Performatic collaboration with a scanner.
I do not wish to become the Machine, I only wish to respect it.
It is a contract, I dance for the Machine, and in reward it gives me a static glimpse of the imaterial. It shows me it’s painting techniques… and surprisingly they’re not so different from mine.
The images are not altered or edited afterwards; they are the direct result of the scanned image. In a series of different experiments, I used gouache, acrylic paint, plastics and my own body to perform paintings that were then preserved in the static image created in a composite collaboration with the scanner.
